Celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week 2025! 💙

Before half-term, our Nursery and Reception children took part in Children’s Mental Health Week, engaging in activities designed to support emotional well-being, self-expression, and mindfulness. Through daily discussions, emotional check-ins, and calming exercises, the children explored their feelings in a fun and meaningful way.

One of the highlights of the week was our morning emotional check-ins, where children chose a picture to represent how they were feeling. "The favourite activity was definitely selecting which dog matched our emotions!" shared Miss Pearce. "Some of the choices made us all laugh, but it was a brilliant way to encourage children to express themselves."

To help the children relax, we introduced yoga sessions before home time, creating a calm and peaceful end to the day. Miss Smith said, "It was lovely to see the children fully engaged in stretching and breathing exercises—it really helped them unwind."

The week ended with Feel-Good Friday, where children wore outfits that made them happy. From bright colours to favourite characters, it was wonderful to see their personalities shine through. Miss Blake noted, "The children were so excited to show off their outfits—it was a fantastic way to end the week on a positive note!"

Miss Thompstone reflected on the importance of the week: "Helping children to recognise and talk about their emotions is just as valuable as teaching them academic skills. This week was a great step in building their emotional literacy."

A huge thank you to our parents and guardians for your continued support. Mental well-being is a lifelong journey, and together, we are helping our children develop the skills they need for a happy and healthy future. 💛✨
