Y2 - Wisley Gardens

On Friday, 31st January, Year 2 set off on their school trip to Wisley Gardens. Despite a very wet start to the day, we carried on, wrapped up in our coats, hats, and gloves, ready for a day of exploration!
Throughout the day, the children took part in a workshop that guided them on an interactive journey to understand how plants grow and what they need to thrive. They explored a fascinating collection of plants, from the smallest shoots to the tallest trees, and applied their scientific knowledge through a range of practical activities. As part of the workshop, the children planted their own seeds and took cuttings from other plants to bring back to school—and eventually take home (though a little soil may have been lost along the way!). We look forward to them sharing photographs on Seesaw if and when their plants begin to grow. The children should now be experts on what seeds need in order to germinate!
While at Wisley, we also had the opportunity to explore the glasshouse, which houses a wide range of tropical plants, cacti, and even a waterfall. Of course, we made sure to spend some time in the fantastic adventure playground as well!
Throughout the day, many of our Year 2 pupils commented on what a fantastic experience it was, and they all represented Aragon School brilliantly.
